Episode #62 : Mary Is The Ark Of The Covenant

In this episode from July 7, 2022, Fr. Tom DiLorenzo draws parallels between David's transporting of the Ark of the Covenant through the hill country of Judea into Jerusalem, as recounted in 2 Samuel chapter 6, and Mary's trip to the hill country of Judea to visit her cousin Elizabeth, as recounted in Luke chapter 1. He also looks at Revelation chapters 11 and 12 where John sees the the Ark of the Covenant in the temple in heaven as a woman clothed with the sun with the moon under her feet wearing a crown of 12 stars. The ark of the ancient Israel contained the tablets on which were written the ten commandments as well as a jar of the manna that fell from heaven to feed the Israelites in the desert. Mary held within her womb Jesus, who is the word of God and the bread come down from heaven. Mary is the Ark of the Covenant.

Fr. Thomas DiLorenzo

Father Tom DiLorenzo was born in East Boston, Massachusetts in 1946. He graduated from Salem State College, Salem Ma. in 1968, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Boston by Humberto Cardinal Medeiros in 1979. He has served as a parochial vicar at Sacred Heart Church, Quincy, Ma and at St. Adelaide's Church, Peabody, Ma. Then he spent 25 years as the Administrator of Holy Rosary Church in Winthrop, just outside Boston. Currently he is a senior priest in residence at St. John's Church in Quincy, Ma.
Father Tom has been active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for over four decades, and has preached at countless conferences and prayer meetings. In 1984 he began "In Season and Out of Season", a Catholic, evangelical, bible-based outreach on radio.
Fr. Tom has a great love for the Church and has made the enhancement of the spirituality of parish life a priority in his ministry.
